This is the story of how I ditched all of these.
I never would have ever thought that I, of all people, would have embraced a natural cleaning product.
I’ve been a clean freak for most of my life. And I was attached to my brand name store bought cleaning supplies. I used to roll my eyes when people bloggers would talk/write about how they detoxed their home by ditching all their toxic, chemical-laden cleaning supplies for natural cleaners. I’d tried some natural cleaners before, and I was not impressed. The natural cleaners I tried just didn’t seem to get the job done, and man were they expensive! I knew that using all the chemical laden cleaners was probably not good for me or my household, but I wasn’t willing to sacrifice real cleanliness especially if that meant paying a higher price.
I think healthy living is a journey, and I think it’s all about making steps, one at a time, in a healthier direction. That whole Rome wasn’t built in a day is kind of how I look at healthy living. Two years ago I started my
paleo journey and have become quite passionate about real, nutrient-dense food; and last year while I may not have blogged about it too much I spent much of the year switching out a lot of my family’s personal care products. I’ve basically been on a mission to detox our lives and our home as much as possible. There was one area where I wasn’t making much headway. I was still clinging to my old, trusty cleaners. They were like my toxic skeletons in the all natural closet. Ha!
Obviously, it didn’t really go down like that, but it was pretty darn dramatic. Thieves basically stole my heart. It was love at first spray.
